Role Description

Overview:

The Laboratory Technician will primarily support various research and technical services projects involving plenty of hands-on laboratory work, analytical instruments operation covering chemistry, food-science and applications testing.  The lab technician with work closely with chemists, engineers, food scientists, facility managers and facility safety teams to assist in planning, execution of projects, data analysis, reporting, audits, and special projects.

What you’ll do:

Test, Improve, Collaborate & Report

  • Perform numerous hands-on experiments via wet chemistry or with analytical instruments adhering to
    standard operating procedures and safe practices
  • Maintain and perform routine standard operating procedures and instrument operation
  • Test and validate new products, processes, and/or suppliers against defined specifications and
    requirements
  • Provide process improvement and troubleshooting support in the laboratory.
  • Work closely with R&D chemists, engineers in method development, test validation and data reporting
  • Conduct applications testing on various products to understand their performance in field applications
  • Perform accurate data analysis and reporting to ensure data integrity and compliance
  • Work with various facility vendors to ensure smooth facility operation with regards to routine maintenance schedules, shipping support, instrument servicing, facility supplies
  • Ensure timely submission and processing of facility invoices and processing purchase orders
  • Collaborate with outside vendors for facility maintenance, certifications, or licenses.

Qualifications:

In addition to demonstrating your capabilities of the above, top candidates possess:

  • Associate degree or minimum 2-3 years as a lab technician
  • Highly motivated individual comfortable with a laboratory operating environment, routine testing and
    analysis
  • Ability to process, interpret data accurately and communicate results in effective written format
  • Exhibits familiarity and high regards to proper laboratory safety procedures and personal protection
  • Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Preferred Experience – analytical instruments (i.e. FTIR, ICP, Titration), trouble-shooting instruments, and experience with food applications or culinary.
