Overview:
The Communications Manager has passion for educating, inspiring and engaging audiences through powerful, culturally relevant communications that elevate the brand in the workplace and marketplace. The role will lead the internal communications strategy and execution as well as play a lead role in improving the company culture. The Communications Manager will be responsible for corporate public relations and managing media relations related to our operations.

What you’ll do:
Strategy & Design
- Develop an internal communications strategy for Morton Salt, with a focus on increasing employee engagement.
- Lead planning and execution of internal communications programs to drive a more united workplace culture.
- Create modern, compelling content across multiple channels including video, print, newsletter, company
intranet/portal, quarterly meetings, Yammer and network video boards. - Develop a long-term strategy to modernize, grow engagement and improve employee perception of quarterly
town hall meetings. - Provide ongoing counsel and internal communication support to senior executives.
- Develop strategy, editorial plans and content to support change management, employee engagement programs
and cultural initiatives.
Execute
- Manage the enterprise-wide rollout of a digital display network for all company sites in the U.S., Canada and the
Bahamas, and manage the development/deployment of corporate content for displays on an ongoing basis. - Plan and execute quarterly town hall meetings including managing agendas, event flow, content development,
and in-person and webcast event logistics. - Serve as the editor-in-chief of our weekly internal e-newsletter; publishing consistent, modern and compelling
content for our employees. - Write and edit materials, including organizational announcements, intranet articles, executive speeches, talking
points, and company presentations. - Manage internal communications analytics including reporting, growth targets and program evaluation.
Corporate Public Relations
- Manage day-to-day media relations for the company and work with key stakeholders to provide counsel and
reactive statements for media requests. - Develop communication plans and strategy to protect company reputation and assist business units as necessary
for labor relations, health & safety, issues management and crisis communication. - Manage and coordinate social online presence (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook)
Qualifications:
In addition to demonstrating your capabilities of the above, top candidates possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Advertising, English or
technology-related discipline. - Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, marketing communications,
public relations, publishing, social media or related field. Experience in a corporate environment preferred. CPG
and B2B industry experience a plus. - Passion for storytelling, creating content, and emerging platforms
- Exceptional, articulate communicator with superior journalistic and business writing skills, as well as strong
verbal and presentation skills. - Core understanding of editorial planning and content management systems (CMS) involving multiple partners
and platforms. - Passion to learn and adopt the latest communications trends, strategies, platforms, technologies, tools, and
techniques to improve communications effectiveness. - Adept at communicating in innovative ways and across a wide range of channels and mediums, including print,
video, web, and social media. - Proven record of accomplishment of planning and flawlessly executing enterprise-wide communication
programs with measurable results. - Experience managing outside agency teams, vendors and third party partners.
- Photo editing and illustration skills – experience with Adobe creative suite a plus.
