Job Description

Role Description

Overview:

The Plant Controller will provide comprehensive financial leadership at the site, maintaining P&L and balance sheet integrity and rigorous controls, and guiding the site in making short and long term financial decisions. The controller will partner with plant and corporate leadership to identify opportunities that drive improvements and lower costs, while ensuring GAAP compliance.

What you’ll do:

Provide Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor the financial performance of the plant and prepare monthly key reports
  • Monitor both spending and timing of Capital and expense project versus approved budgets
  • Quantify both the financial and quantity impact of the proposed standard consumption change
  • Monitor production line speeds versus those incorporated in SAP to maintain accurate product costing
  • Participates in the development of annual budget
  • Monitor, update and ensure the accuracy of the inventory accounts.

Manage Accounting Process

  • Prepare and approve the monthly journal entries
  • Approve accounts payables documents and respond to vendor inquiries
  • Determine appropriateness of cost center and account combinations for the service or material being purchased versus where budgeted or to be utilized
  • Review and approve the payroll documents
  • Monitor both spending and timing of Capital and expense project versus approved budgets
  • Reconcile the general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.

 

Qualifications:

In addition to demonstrating your capabilities of the above, top candidates possess:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA a plus)
  • 5+ years of progressive operational/cost accounting or finance experience
  • ERP Systems knowledge (SAP preferred)
  • Style that effectively works with all levels within a manufacturing environment
